MSc European Forestry

Admission Criteria

The admission decisions are based on multiple factors. Emphasis is given to the academic degrees and records, the letters of recommendation, the motivation of the student, the language skills and his/her international and work experience.

In addition, consideration may be given to the general background in the forestry sector and life experience reflected in the applicant’s CV, and how it would contribute to an educationally beneficial mix of students.

Selection Procedure

The MSc EF secretariat will collect all application files sent before the deadline. Only those applications that are complete and fulfil the requirements and minimum criteria demanded will be considered. The selection will consider the criteria exposed in a competitive process among the applications accepted.

The University of Joensuu will inform by email, tentatively by mid March, those students that have been preliminary selected and also those who form the reserve list. However, is the European Commission who has the final decision on awarding the Erasmus Mundus scholarships; such decision is made by the end of May and forwarded to the students. Soon after (end of May / beginning of June), all admitted students will be sent by post an invitation letter by the University of Joensuu, together with other relevant information and documents. The enrolment is only official after replying and accepting the conditions of the invitation letter.
