Application Procedure

The application for the MSc European Forestry Erasmus Mundus Course consists on:

  • An electronic application, to be submitted electronically together with the required enclosures as electronic attachments ( the electronic form will be available at the bottom of this page only when the call for applications is open).
  • A printed version of the electronic application, to be submitted by post (hard copy) together with the required enclosures (as paper documents).

Bear in mind that applications submitted ONLY electronically are NOT valid; you must also submit the paper version of your application by post.

The required enclosures for your application are:

A. Officially attested true copy of your Bachelor and/or other degree certificates.

B. Authorised translation of the degree certificates in English, unless the original is in English.

C. Official academic study transcript or officially attested true copy of it.

D. Authorised translation of the study transcript in English, unless the original is in English.

E. Curriculum Vitae.

F. Copy of a passport (the page with information on personal details). If passport is not yet available, attach a copy of an identity card or other identity document with a photograph, which includes information on nationality.

G. If you are NOT a native speaker in English, and English has NOT been the language of instruction during your BSc studies, then you must ask your language test administrator (TOEFL or IELTS) to send the results of your test directly to the University of Joensuu; the TOEFL code for the university is 8222. Alternatively, if you are NOT a native speaker of English but English has been the language of instruction during your BSc studies, attach your application a certificate from your university stating that the language of instruction during your BSc studies has been English.

H. Two letters of academic recommendations in sealed envelopes with contact information (university email address) of the referee, according to the REFERENCE FORM provided below. Alternatively, these reference letters can be sent directly to us by the referees.

We kindly ask you to scan the required documents A, B, C, D, E, F and G (all except the recommendation letters and the TOEFL/IELTS certificate) beforehand so that you will be able to attach as many of them as possible when sending the electronic application.

The call for applications for the academic year of 2009–2011 has been opened from 2nd of November 2008 and the deadline for the application is 31 December 2008. Consortium welcomes the applications from the qualified students and professionals from all over the world.

The applications for Erasmus Mundus scholarship to study MSc in European Forestry are accepted from now. The consortium is expecting an official conformation from the European Commission regarding the extension of MScEF consortium and availability of scholarships for the given academic period. Please be informed that the study places of the selected students will be confirmed only if the funding for the course will be grated from the European Commission.

Applications postmarked on the last day of the application period will be valid. Any application sent after the deadline will automatically be rejected.

Please note that the submitted applications become the property of the MSc EF secretariat and will not be returned.

REFERENCE FORMS

The letters of recommendation are based on the standard reference letter format provided below. At least one of them has to be done by a teacher/supervisor at the applicant's home university.
