| University
of Lleida
The University of Lleida has
its roots in the Estudi General de Lleida created in 1300 by a charter
to the city of Lleida from the king of Aragon James II on the basis
of the papal bull issued in Rome on the 1st of April 1297, by Pope
Boniface VIII.
University of Lleida is made up of seven teaching
centres, among which are the Faculties, Upper Technical Schools
and University Schools, and five attached centres. The faculties
and schools are units of ordination, organisation and co-ordination
of the first and second cycle studies, aimed at obtaining the corresponding
qualification, and their function is to co-ordinate the development
of the qualifications that are given (34 in the university's own
centres and 3 in the attached centres). You can find more general information on the University of Lleida at the link http://www.udl.cat/perfils/visitors.html
Forestry studies are taught in the HigherTechnical School of Agrarian Engineering (ETSEA) located
on a modern campus close to the city, in a traditionally agricultural
area, with delightful surroundings that are easily accessible on
foot or by bicycle. This situation makes it possible for students
to carry out most of their academic activity on campus, and to take
part in the different association initiatives which enrich their
personal training. This fact is especially relevant in the ETSEA,
contributing to create a participative and dynamic style, with a
space in which the different interests of the university community
can be conveyed.
